I recently donated this camera to my church to replace an old Sony CX330 which picture quality was bothering me when editing videos. We have Canon Vixia HF G20s on remote arms and the CX330 and CX230 are stationary left and right cameras whose quality is very noticeable when switching through camera shots.
After seeing the camera in stores and others who have used it, I decided on getting one based on the close specs to the G20s (discontinued). I would consider this a budget video camera even though there are other cheaper models.
I was not going for the cheapest I was going for the cheapest with the best image quality.
I currently have a Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD so I test setup everything here at home before installing it at church which has the original ATEM Television Studio.
This camera also used the Orei XD-700, which still works great but I also decided to replace this with the Blackmagic Design HDMI to SDI micro converter.
I love these things and use them in my client setups as well as on my home system.
My church setup was done before these were available so any future replacements, I switch out the older gear with these smaller units.
